A New Day, A New Blog Entry...

I’m a straight-forward kind of girl. If you ask me what I’m thinking, I’ll tell you, no sugar-coating cause that’s not what life’s about. It’s about dealing with the pain that comes along, so if you are going to tell me how you feel, don’t lie. If I ask something, I want to know the truth, not the lie.

You can’t make any one person your world. The trick is to take what each can give you and build a world from it.

Life is  a series of experiences, each one of which makes us bigger, even though it is hard to realize this. For the world was built to develop character, and we must learn that the setback and griefs which we endure help us in our marching onward.

Stop and appreciate what you have today. Look at what you have with wider eyes, maybe with more compassion and more gratitude for the things that you do have and not the things you don’t have.

Don't limit yourself. Many people limit themselves to what they think they can do. You can go as far as your mind lets you. What you believe, remember, you can achieve.

Be More...

Have the courage to say no.
Have the courage to face the truth.
Do the right thing because it is right.
These are the magic keys to living your life with integrity.

"I'm thinking that sometimes you just have to make the decision to be happy.  Just realize that things aren't ever what you hoped they'd be.  Not ever.  For anybody.  The only thing that separates one kind of person from another is that there are some who stay angry about it and there are some who accept what comes their way."

"Nothing can take away what's happened to you and what you've experienced.
Even if it goes away somehow, it's still there.
 It's still what you are."

"It's never too late to become what you might have been."

I know that this isn’t what you always planned, but maybe that’s the point. You need to stop planning your life and I promise you something good, maybe even beautiful will happen.

I want people to feel an immediate happiness and cheerfulness when they are around me. To make a difference in someone’s life.  I want to make an impression in someone’s life, so that even though I may be delicate and fragile, my footprints are permanent within the hearts of the ones I've touched.

“There is neither happiness nor unhappiness in this world;
there is only the comparison of one state with another.
Only a man who has felt ultimate despair is capable of feeling ultimate bliss.
It is necessary to have wished for death in order to know how good it is to live….
the sum of all human wisdom will be contained in these two words:
Wait and Hope.”
-The Count of Monte Cristo

"The truth is that our finest moments are most likely to occur when we are deeply uncomfortable, unhappy or unfulfilled. For it is only in such moments, propelled by our discomfort, that we are likely to step out of our ruts and start searching for different ways or truer answers." -m. scott peck

Sometimes, you just feel everything and nothing at once. Sometimes, you find yourself smiling, while missing someone at the same time. You can absolutely love someone, and all the while be trying to hate them. Life comes without guarantees, except that smiling will brighten your face, laughing will enhance your eyes, and falling in love will change your life.

We're just afraid, period. Our fear is free floating.
We're afraid this isn't the right relationship, or we're afraid it is.
We're afraid they won't like us, or we're afraid they will.
We're afraid of failure or we're afraid of success.
We're afraid of dying young or growing old.
We're more afraid of life than we are death.

Hugging is healthy. It helps the immune system, cures depression, reduces stress, and induces sleep. It’s invigorating, rejuvenating and has no unpleasant side effects. It’s nothing less than a miracle drug. Hugging is all natural. It’s organic, naturally sweet, has no artificial ingredients, environmentally friendly and is 100% wholesome. Hugging is the ideal gift. Great for any occasion, fun to give and receive, shows you care, comes with its own wrapping paper and, of course, is fully returnable.

Let go of what kills you and hold on to what keeps you breathing.

Taking a Step Back

God’s no is not a rejection;
it’s a redirection.

Imagine there is a bank account that credits your account each morning with $86,400. It carries over no balance from day to day. Every evening, the bank deletes whatever part of the balance you failed to use during the day. What would you do? Draw out every cent, of course? Each of us has such a bank. Its name is time. Every morning, it credits you with 86.400 seconds. Every night, it writes off as lost, whatever of this you have failed to invest to a good purpose. It carries over no balance. It allows no overdraft. Each day, it opens a new account for you. Each night, it burns the remains of the day. If you fail to use the day’s deposits, the loss is yours. There is no drawing against “tomorrow.” You must live in the present on today’s deposits. Invest it so as to get it from the utmost health, happiness, and success. The clock is running. Make the most of today.

Maybe one day,
we’ll find the place
where our dreams
and reality collide.

Too bad people don’t fall in love at the same pace, at the same time, for the same reasons, and it’s too bad that those emotions don’t move simultaneously. But each bit of madness moved at its own pace, one not dependent on the pace of anyone else. It wasn’t like tandem skydiving, where you were connected as you fell, where you were forced to fall at the same rate and use the same parachute. Falling in love is a solo act. I knew that, I just learned the hard way. You just jump and hope that your parachute will open. Sometimes, you look up and realize that you were falling by yourself, the object of your desire still on the plane, not interested in jumping and watching you descend into that scary place alone.

Destiny is for losers.
It’s a stupid excuse
to wait for things to happen
instead of making them happen.

It starts with a dream.
Add faith,
and it becomes belief.
Add action,
and it becomes a part of life.
Add perseverance,
and it becomes a goal in sight.
Add patience and time,
and it ends with a dream come true.

When you learn to accept instead of expect,
you’ll surely avoid getting hurt and you’ll have fewer disappointments.

Worshiping God is not about you; it’s about Him. It sounds like common sense, but so many of us have it all wrong. We find it easier to praise Him when things seem to be going extremely right, and we find it easier to cry out to Him when things seem to be going extremely wrong. When right and wrong aren’t at the extreme end of the spectrum, we tend to put God on a shelf until the next time we remember Him. I put God on a shelf this semester. My mind set going into it wasn’t about what I could give to Him, but what He was going to give to me.

God doesn't give us what we can handle,
God helps us handle what we are given.

I’ve learned that you can’t please everyone.
So don’t even try it.
It’s a waste of time trying to make everyone like you.
Just be you.
I've learned the hard way and in the end,
some people are just so full of hate,
that no matter what you say or do,
they’ll always have something to say.
They’ll never like you.
So what?

It’s a lot easier to be lost than found.
It’s the reason why we’re always searching and rarely discovered.
So many locks, not enough keys.

Sometimes the person you want the most is the person you’re best without.

Butterflies can’t see their wings.
They can’t see how beautiful they are,
but everyone else can.
People are like that, too.

I can tell you a lot about her. She’s someone with a huge heart. She will bend over backwards and fold herself in half helping out someone if she can do anything. Her loyalty to the ones that mean something to her is unheard of nowadays. She smiles like she’s never been hurt, and if you didn’t know her, you wouldn’t ever imagine her to ever be hurt. But it happens, a lot more than anyone realizes. She’s really fragile, and it takes very little for her to be hurt, as she takes everything to heart. I’m not surprised though if you don’t know a lot though, because she’s really cautious and her letting someone close to her is a rare thing to happen. There are demons inside her that she’s constantly in a fight with. And she’s a lot worse to herself than anything that could be said to her. Her past is not one of her favorite subjects. She wouldn't expect anyone to notice her or to listen to the things she has to say that aren't necessary to be said. But I’m telling you, she’s so worth it all, she’s nothing you’d ever expect, and you’ll feel alive in a way that you've never have with her in your life.
